National Migration Week - January 6-12, 2019
For nearly a half century, the Catholic Church in the United States has celebrated National Migration Week, which is an opportunity for the Church to reflect on the circumstances confronting migrants, including immigrants, refugees, children, and victims and survivors of human trafficking. The theme for National Migration Week 2019, “Building Communities of Welcome” draws attention to the fact that each of our families have a migration story, some recent and others in the distant past. Regardless of where we are and where we came from, we remain part of the human family and are called to live in solidarity with one another.
During this National Migration Week, let us all take the opportunity to engage migrants as community members, neighbors and friends. We can find opportunities to engage migrant communities in our local community through our local Catholic Charities and other community organizations. Opportunities to encounter and accompany can include: becoming a foster parents to migrant children who have been separated from family members, participating in a local Parishes Organized to Welcome Refugees (POWR) program; launching a new initiative that will support migrants and their effort to become Americans; engaging in advocacy with local, state, and federal leaders to ensure that resources are in place to support refugees and immigrants during their transition and beyond.

New Member Orientation
Are you new to St. Joseph and would like to know more about your new church home? You and your family are invited to a short informational meeting held in the Sanctuary after the 10 am Mass on Sunday, January 27. There is a complementary waffle breakfast following the meeting.
Benefit Waffle Breakfast for Lodwar, Kenya
On January 27 from 9 am to noon, "Dad's Belgian Waffles" will be providing a breakfast to help us raise funds for wells in Lodwar, Kenya with Cross Catholic International. Cost is $8 for adults, Kids 6-12 are $5, and 5 and younger are free. Families of 5 or more are $25. All you care to eat.
A very generous parishioner has pledged to match (dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000) every dollar donated to the elevator fund between now and Easter. A recent gift of $2,800 just became $5,600 because of the match. Just imagine how fast we could reach our goal of providing accessibility to all people attending the Little Church when your contribution will be doubled by a “gift blessing” from one of St. Joseph’s “faithful servants.”
Please consider making a donation to this project so we can take advantage of this extremely generous gift.

7:15 pm IN TOUCH, ON the ROCK
Hello, my name is Shane Heggem, a life scout of Troop 141, Robbinsdale MN. I am in the process of updating the nursery at St. Joseph’s. The kids need a fun and entertaining environment in which to learn and grow.
The project will include wall murals based on “Noah’s Ark” as well as new
storage units for holding toys, videos and other nursery supplies. We would greatly appreciate any contribution to reach our goal of $1,500 toward this Nursery Eagle Scout Project. If you would like to contribute, you may send a check payable St. Joseph, and write Eagle Scout Project in the memo line.
I sincerely thank you in advance for your contribution to help make the
St. Joseph Nursery Eagle Scout Project successful.
